Rallies mark World Labour Day

Huge rallies, processions and public events by workers’ unions marked the World Labour Day in the city on Tuesday.

The members of the May Day Celebration Committee consisting of several trade unions took out a march from the Town Hall to Freedom Park. More than 5,000 people from various trade unions and worker of several industries participated in the procession.

The Karnataka Workers’ Union also took out a rally from the Minerva Circle to Banappa Park, a large number of workers from the Peenya Industrial Area, Nelamangala, Electronics City, Bommasandra, Jigani Industrial Area, Ramanagaram, Bidadi and Narasapura Industrial Area in Kolar districts participated in the procession.
