Teen who attempted suicide at metro station recovering

The 18-year-old boy who attempted suicide by jumping on to the metro rail tracks at the National College station on Friday is recovering at Nimhans, according to the doctors treating him.

“The youngster is responding well to the treatment and his condition has improved,” said one of the doctors. “He is stable. If need be, and based on his condition, counselling will be offered,” said another doctor. Metro services were halted for a while on Friday following the suicide attempt. Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy also visited him at Nimhans later in the day.
