Metro services between Indiranagar and MG Road stations will not resume on Monday morning as announced earlier with BMRCL seeking another day for the civil and restoration works.

In a release, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) said services on Indiranagar-MG Road stretch will commence only on January 1. "The planned maintenance works at Trinity Station is likely to be completed on the night of December 30. Thereafter, restoration of the track, signalling and testing of the systems will be carried out on December 31 as per standard procedures," it said.

With this, commuters have to bear with the inconvenience of disrupted metro service on the Purple Line for one more day.

However, the corporation said trains will continue to operate till 2 am on January 1 on the separated segments: Mysore Road-MG Road and Indiranagar-Byappanahalli. "BMRCL will continue to run free bus services between Cubbon Park and Byappanahalli stations on the whole day of December 31 and during the extended service till 2 am on January 1 (sic)," the release added.
