Mangalore kites fly high in France

The team comprising of Sarvesh Rao, Prashanth Upadhyaya( MRPL), Dinesh Holla and Subhash Pai (MRPL), took part in the international event with 175 other participants from over 42 countries like Nepal, Indonesia, Pakistan, England, Netherlands etc.

A press release from Team Mangalore stated that Indian art forms like Yakshagana, Kathakali, Bharatanatyam, Bhootaraadhane and Pushpaka Vimaana were imprinted on kites by the team during the festival.

This is for the third consecutive year that Team Mangalore took part in the Dieppe Festival. Apart from this, Team Mangalore is the only team from India to have been invited to France so far.

The festival was organised by the Mayor of Dieppe to promote tourism and talent among artistes worldwide.

In addition to kite flying, the team also took a special interest to promote South Indian culture through Yakshagana performance enacted by Prashanth Upadhyaya. Well-known artist Dinesh Holla demonstrated live sketching on Indian culture.
