Hugh Grant gifts himself a Ferrari for 50th birthday

Yet the 'Notting Hill' star looked gloomy as he took delivery of his new car and went out for the first spin.

Dressed casually in white shorts, a hoodie and trainers, his attire was more suited for a jog in the park than a drive in a sports car, reported Daily Mail online.

The British actor's less than cheerful demeanour may have something to do with the birthday in question.

He recently said he was "dreading" his 50th, even joking about visiting a euthanasia clinic.
"I'm dreading it. There is this place in Switzerland called Dignitas. I'm going to go to Dignitas on my 50th birthday, 50 is enough!" he had said in a recent interview.

The 'Four Weddings and A Funeral' star said that age has also cost him his sense of humour after he started exercising in a bid to get rid of panic attacks.

"I get these panic attacks. So I have always tried to do everything I possibly can, herbal remedies, chemical remedies. Running was the only thing that really helped," he said.

"It calmed me down, so I didn't have the panic attacks. But at the same time, I found that it lowered my sense of humour. I lost my edge a bit," said Grant.
