Bank of Baroda to open 7 new branches soon

Addressing a news conference on Thursday in Mangalore, Bank of Baroda Chairman and Managing Director M D Mallya said that despite global meltdown, bank has plans to increase the global total business to Rs 4.25 lakh crore.

He informed that bank has 3000 branches in India and 74 branches in 25 countries and and all of these 3,000 branches will be brought under Core Banking Solution by September 2009, thereby rendering on-line banking facility to its customers.

He said that there are 54 branches in Karnataka at present and 7 new branches will be opened up within couple of months with 4 branches in Bangalore and one each in Hospet, Karwar and Haveri. Bank DGM S K Poojary and GM South Zone Usha Anantha Subramanium were present.
