IUCN team faces people's wrath

Representatives of IUCN who visited Madikeri on Tuesday to make recommendations with regard to the proposal of Central government to include Talacauvery, Pushpagiri and Brahmagiri of Western Ghats in the World Heritage list, were sent away by the members of various organisations and elected representatives, who took exception to the proposals of Dr Briin Furzaf from Australia and Dr Vendy from Switzerland, the experts in the team.

The protesters, alleging that the team was in Madikeri due to the conspiracy of some fake environmentalists, said that there is no need for the team to hold any discussion with the forest officials.
