"Though snake stories have been told often, they are still popular among people. I am glad to be playing a snake-woman in 'Hiss'," Mallika told reporters here today.
Also, she said her character in the movie should not be compared to the ones played by yesteryear's actress, Sridevi.
"My character in 'Hiss' is very different from the ones essayed by Sridevi. I play a snake-woman of today," the 'Murder' star said.
Earlier, Sridevi had won accolades for her snake-woman roles in movies like 'Nagina' and its sequel 'Nigahen'.
'Hiss' has been directed by American filmmaker Jennifer Lynch and stars Irfan Khan and Divya Dutta besides Mallika.
