Promote exports in dists, says FKCCI chief

Speaking after inaugurating  Export Awareness Camp, organised here on Saturday, he said Karnataka is ranked fourth in the export market in the country. “We are doing good in textiles, food, IT, hardware and other sectors. We can add on to the export share when the companies here provide quality products at attractive prices. The domestic market should also be stable to see progress in exports,” he said.

He said Export Facilitation Centres in the districts like Mysore having good potential for exports could help increase the production generating good revenue. These centres could become an interface between the exporters and potential buyers, he added.

On the occasion, Industrialist and chairman of Mysore Industries Association P Vishwanath said of late, Mysore has emerged strong in export sector. There has been a good progress in automobile, IT, food products and textile exports, he said. While, secretary of the Association Suresh Kumar Jain said Mysore would have a Export Facilitation centre soon.
President of Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) H D Raghavendra, Industrialists Sreeshail Ramannanavar, M A Sharief, Director of District Industries Centre M Shivashankar and others were present.

The awareness camp was jointly organised by Visvesvaraya Industrial Trading Centre, Bangalore, FKCCI, MCCI, District Industries Centre and Mysore Industries Association.
