The bank is following an anti-farmer policy and the ryots are the worst affected due to the steps taken by the bank to auction their tractors, they claimed.

The protesters alleged that the bank had auctioned a few tractors that had been seized from the farmers who could not pay the monthly installment, on October 18.

They auctioned tractors worth five lakhs for just Rs 1.25 lakh and stopped the proceedings further. Two out of six tractors were auctioned on the day for a very low price. They also suspected the hand of a bank employee and branch manager in the issue.

The bank is not giving much publicity for the auction of tractors and hence, there are no buyers for this. There is no proper guidance for farmers. If the something continues, the protest would be intensified, said association president Mylnahalli Manjegowda and Secretary B M Rangaswamy.
