The accused was nabbed a few months ago and was lodged in Bangalore Central Prison in Parappana Agrahara. He was booked under the Karnataka Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Bootleggers, Drug Offenders, Gamblers, Goondas, Immoral Traffic Offenders and Slum Grabbers Act 1985, police said.
Bethangere Seena had been allegedly engaging in criminal activities in the vicinity of Nelamangala in Bangalore Rural district for the past many months. His role was proved in several murders. The accused had been allegedly harassing farmers, political party workers and landowners and was also allegedly extorting money from innocent public, the sources said.
He had been arrested in the past on several occasions but continued his rowdy activities. Even from Central Prison, by using his associates, the accused had been threatening the general public, sources said.
He is involved in as many as 20 different criminal cases. Cases filed against him included those of murder, attempt to murder, attacks, extortion, and criminal intimidation,they added.
