The suspects, aged between 25 and 30, speaking Kannada and Tamil, barged into the house of Jayaram around 5.45 pm. They introduced themselves to Sudha as her husband Jayaram’s friends. They threatened her at knifepoint and directed her to hand over the jewellery and cash. A scared Sudha gave them Rs 25,000 cash and jewellry, all valued at Rs 1.81 lakh.
Dacoity bid foiled
CCB sleuths thwarted a dacoity attempt by arresting nine persons. The suspects were identified as Rajesh (26), Rajesh bin Gopalappa (25), Narasimha Murthy (23), Arjun (23), Chandru (22), Murali (19), Ravi (21), Paul Kumar (22) and Ranjith (24), all from Varthur Hobli.
The police arrested them from a park and recovered lethal weapons.
