Talking to reporters, he said that the district administration would lay emphasis on Janaspandana programme and sanitation. To take the administration to the doorstep of the common man, he said every third Saturday of the month will be reserved for direct phone-in programme to address grievances of the people. All officers should be present in the meeting to provide early solution to the woes of the public.

He said the district cannot be compared with districts in development graph as it  remains backward. It has a big chunk of dalits, backward classes and tribals. Hence, the administration will strive to reach out to the underprivileged through government schemes and programmes. The Janaspandana programme in each of the hoblis would be effectively implemented on every first Saturday of the week.

In reply to a query, he ruled out evacuation of tribals from BRT sanctuary and said the Forest Rights Act 2006 bans any forcible eviction of tribals. Already, 1,115 tribal families are given the title deeds. The DC said he would discuss with the District Health officer on effective steps to be taken to rein the mosquito menace the town.  Additional DC M Nagaraju was present.
