The asset and consumer mapping team with valid ID cards issued by the Bescom will be visiting the premises of all its consumers for collection of data. The company has requested its consumers to co-operate with the mapping staff in providing access to meters and data as stated in the questionnaires designed by the department.
BESCOM has assured that the data collected from consumers would be kept confidential and would be utilised exclusively for departmental use.
The data collection will help in creating a computerised consumer database management system, and provide consumers with improved customer support, such as online billing and quick response to grievances. It will also result in reduction of complaint response time and will help in load balancing thereby amounting to efficient power distribution.
