The victims have been identified as - Mohammed Khurram (25), Mohammed Firasat (25), Salma Sultana (20), Gullu Begum (22), Mohammed Mujaheed (25), S K Shakeel (30), Rubina Begum (25) and nine-year-old girl Aksa Parveen, all residents of Maniyar Taleem in the old city area of Bidar.
In all, 14 persons were travelling in the ill-fated SUV, including the driver. Six of them were killed on the spot, while one of them breathed his last at the Government Hospital in Zaheerabad. Another succumbed to injuries at the Civil Hospital in Bidar. The others are undergoing treatment.
Police said the victims belonged to a single extended family and were returning after bidding farewell to their relatives in Hyderabad who were going on Haj.
