Shunglu committee seeks whistleblowers' help to probe CWG mess

The two-member panel appointed by the Prime Minister has asked general public to post, send e-mail or submit any information related to the conduct of the Games.

"Persons desiring to convey details or complaints or information relating to mismanagement, wasteful expenditure and wrong doing in conduct of games are requested to send information supporting material documents and evidence," the Committee asked.
The Committee, however, said that the whistleblower has to provide his or her full name, contact address and phone numbers while sending the information. The identity of the whistleblower would be kept confidential, it said.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had on October 25 announced 10-point Terms of References for the panel led by former Comptroller and Auditor General Shunglu to investigate the weaknesses in management, alleged misappropriation, irregularities and wrongdoing in the conduct of the Games held here between October 3-14.
Former Secretary, Department of Personnel and Training, Shantanu Consul, is also the member of the Committee.

"The committee will arrive at a logical conclusion on the probe and submit its report within the stipulated time of three months," Shunglu had said.The Committee has asked people to send information through e-mail: hlc-cwg@gov.in and on telephone numbers 011-23063318-19.It has also put up a drop box for the public to 'put in' the information at its office in Vigyan Bhavan Annexe here.
