<p>Areas affected<br /><br /></p>.<p>In Kasaba, Gonibeedu, Banakal, Balur and Kalasa hobli of Mudigere taluk paddy has been cultivated in more than 9,000 acres. <br /><br />Generally the grown crop is harvested in November or December, but the farmers are now apprehensive about the yield. <br /><br />Official speaks<br /><br />Informing the same to Deccan Herald, Agriculture Department Assistant Director Siddhappa said that due to the cloudy atmosphere and unfavourable weather, the yield would decrease up to 20 per cent. <br /><br />Owing to untimely rain the crops are withering away, which would result in another 10 per cent loss, he said.</p>
