All these are the names of the founders and the respective sites created by them, which literally revolutionalised the virtual world. A name P C Hashir and ‘BillMailID’ is likely to join the list.

What makes ‘BillMailID’ all the more significant for Mangaloreans is that this is the world’s first commercial networking and ‘one stop bill management site’ developed in Mangalore waiting to go global.

With the launch of this portal on December 13, P C Hashir, the conceiver of the portal, an alumnus of NITK Surathkal and a renowned engineer hopes to free people from hassles of billing and bill management.

With Foradian Technology developing the site, Hashir, Unni Koroth, CEO of Foradian Technologies (who gave Indian Rupee font on our PCs); Praveen Prabhu, the COO of BillMailID; PC Rayeez, Arvind G S. Abdul Salem and Nausheen, the directors of BillmailID working on it, the site is ready to take over the virtual space.

The idea sparked to Hashir in 2008, when his NRI brother’s utility lines were disconnected due to non payment of bills, as he was in India for 6 months.

“The portal will be world class in terms of look, presentation, service etc. More than anything else, it is a means for us to show that India is the IT intellectual capital. We have seen the disadvantages of e-commerce. Through BillMailID, we intend to counter the disadvantages and reach to even the common man,” says Hashir, speaking to Deccan Herald.

Why BillMailID?

The BillMailID of a person will always be the reverse of his/her mobile number with area code. With power of BillMailID, people can send, receive, store, sort, print, manage, search and pay their bills. Here the subscribers can link their bills to the payment options of their choice and then store the entire setup bills, payment mode and receipt in the BillMailID for reference.

BillMailID will link to all banks and will be available at various locations like bank counters, ATMs, kiosks at strategic locations, third party franchise etc. It will even penetrate the computers and mobile phones making it further more user-friendly. On getting the ID, one will have to inform their billing agencies and service provider to start sending bills to the BillMailID.

Water, electricity, phone bills to the payments that one makes at the malls, all can be managed on this site.

Hashir said that they intend to go public in a year or two and they are entering into tie-up and agreement with various banks and financial partners to try and get all payment options in the portal. The countdown has already begun on the portal www.billmailid.com
