Babus told to pull up socks

At an interaction meeting with officials and heads of all the departments at ZP hall here, he urged them pull up their socks to bring in transperancy and speedy deliver of services to the public.

The Minister also took stock of the strengths and weakness of each of department and told them to come up with innovative ideas to bring out a model for the entire State.

Mandatory

He said it would be mandatory for every department to display a citizen’s charter before Jan 1. A official should be exclusively put on job to attending people’s problems.

All officials executing programmes and in the forefront of delivering public services should maintain a diary and make daily notes on the progress done each day and duties delivered for effective utilisation of funds.

In his opening remarks, he asked the department heads to keep a tab on targets achieved every week and fortnight. The available State and Central funds should be utilised before the end of the current financial year.

SSLC results

He said the education department was given a strict instruction to scale up the ranking of district in SSLC pass per centage.

Though being an education hub, the pass per centage in SSLC has come down and district is relegated to 24th position. “The education department is asked to bring back the lost glory and firmly place the district within 10 ranks,” he said.

At the same time, he said the Deputy Commissioner and the CEO of Zilla Panchayat is empowered to act on lax officials. “We will reward the best officers with recognition during the Jan 26.  Whereas, non-performing officers will be transferred,” he warned.
Deputy Commissioner intervened to add that the administration was giving a thought over encouraging good work of officers through incentive and cash prize, while Minister approved the idea.

Woes

On the occasion, Dean and Director of Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMC & RI), who is also the Superintendent of K R Hospital Geetha Avadani poured out the woes the MMC & RI and group of hospitals comprising K R Hospital, Cheluvamba Hospital, Eye Hospital and PKTB Sanatorium due to shortage of doctors, para-medical staff and lab technicians.

Unless these issues are address, it would be difficult for the MMC & RI to render good service. She also sought an additional 500 bed infrastructure to cater to growing demand in hospital.
