Siddaiah gets tough on absenteeism

The move is said to have come in the backdrop of the standing committees failing to find any Palike employee on duty during the frequent inspections they had carried out.

Directives have also been issued to officials to carry their identity cards, and Group ‘D’ workers to wear uniforms while on duty. The Corporation officials were instructed to ensure that their subordinates follow these orders strictly and keep the records updated whenever the Personnel and Administrative Reforms Standing Committee inspects their offices.

Owing to irregularities, the reforms committee had proposed installation of biometric card readers at BBMP offices to ensure punctuality.
