Guv acting like Opposition leader: Eshwarappa

“I wish the governor contests for panchayat elections either on the Congress or the JD(S) ticket instead of doing politics in Raj Bhavan,” he said.

Speaking with mediapersons in Bangalore on Saturday, Eshwarappa criticised the governor for writing to the chief minister on allegations of land scam and illegal mining. The governor was acting at the behest of the Congress, he added.

When he was minister for Law at the Centre, he did not bother to write to the then Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda, who was allegedly involved in corruption over sanctioning mining licences.

“He didn’t write to Koda to safeguard his ministry,” he alleged. Eshwarappa alleged that Bhardwaj was responsible for the prime accused in Bofors scam, Ottavio Quattrocchi escaping from the clutches of the CBI.
