Ironically, the same village was relocated several decades ago to aid the construction of the dam.

The village, which is a stone’s throw away from KRS does not even have borewell to meet the rising water demand of the village, as the water table has depleted.

It is quite a common scene to see the residents fetching water from the reservoir by bicycles, bikes for drinking.

The gram panchayat supplies water through tankers twice a week, which is still not sufficient for even 20 houses, lament the villagers.

Population

KRS gram panchayat member Vijaykumar says the people of KRS themselves are not getting sufficient drinking water, how is it possible to supply water to them. Hosa Undawadi comes under Hulikere gram panchayat limits with more than 1,500 population.

Singegowda of the Undawadi village alleged that they have been facing drinking water problem since the past 10 years. We have been literally pleading the elected representatives and officials to provide regular drinking water, but in vain.
