The Mumbai police, on Tuesday night, arrested four persons on the charges of planning the murder of an unnamed Mangalore-based advocate, allegedly in retaliation to the murder of Naushad Kashimji, who was shot dead in the city on April 9.
Refusing to disclose more details, Dakshina Kannada Superintendent of Police A Subrahmanyeshwar Rao told Deccan Herald that a team of Mangalore police is leaving for Mumbai on Wednesday to gather more information.
The arrested are said to be aides of underworld don Chhota Shakeel.
Kashimji had allegedly been murdered by the aides of Ravi Poojary. Mangalore police had arrested six persons in this connection from Bangalore on April 24.
