Vasundharotsava from tomorrow

The Jaganmohana Palace will be hosting to seven-days classical dance and music extravaganza, Vasundharotsava - 2010-11, to mark the silver jubilee of Vasundhara Performing Arts Centre.

K V Murthy, patron and president of the centre told reporters that Vasundharotsava would be the first of the series of musical and dance programme planned by the Centre for the next one year.

The centre would be completing 24 years of its existence next year and will be stepping into silver jubilee celebrations. Many more programmes would follow Vasundharotsava.
The Vasundharotsava - 2010-11 would begin with a Rangapravesha of Kumari Mohaka Marissa, Rajashekara, a budding Bharatanatyam talent from United States.

Inauguration

Suttur Mutt Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra will be inaugurating the seven-day festival.
Rani Satish, former minister, Kannada and Culture, B R Jayaramaraje Urs, Managing Director, Karnataka Public Landas Corporation Ltd, Dr Ravichandra, MD, Diya Systems, Mangalore, Prof K Ramamurthy Rao, Director of Noopura would be chief guests for the inaugural event.

Kuchipudi

The second day will see Kuchipudi by Hithaishi Dhanan, Bharatanatyam by Rochitha Nathan and Viji Rao from USA. Kum. Kalyani S Kumar would do a Rangapravesha on Dec 28.

Bhashyam Swamy, Dharmadhikari, Sudarshana Narasimha Kshetra, Vijayanagar will inaugurate the show.

It will be followed by Tala Vadya by Vid S V Giridhar and party and carnatic vocal by S Shankar on Dec 29.

Chinmayi M Hegde, another budding would hold the Rangapravesha performance on Dec 30.

R Vasudeva Murthy, president of Mahajana Educational Institutions would inaugurate.
On Dec 31, Bharatanatya artiste Nisha Talanki from USA will perform.

Dr Vasundhara Doraswamy  would perform a dance ballet, “Ambe”, choreographed by Prof Udyavara Madhava Acharya.

The last day of the programme on Jan 1 will see a Kuchipudi performance by Rajyashree Ramesh(Germany) and Odissi dance by Dipty Mishra.

Founder director of Vasundhara Performing Arts Centre Vasundhara Doraswamy was present.
