Speaking to presspersons on Sunday, JD(S) Member S I Muneer, Congress Members H M Nandakumar, T M Ayyappa said CMC Commissioner has not named BJP members who had damaged the CMC property in his complaint to the police. In this background, the police will not initiate action against the culprits. “We have submitted a memorandum to the Commissioner to name the BJP members who were involved in ruckus. If the police fail to initiate action, then we will stage night long dharna,” they said.

MLC M C Nanaiah has already spoken to the DGP on the CMC BJP members behaviour on the day of the election.

At the same time, Opposition leader in Assembly Siddaramaiah, MP H Vishwanath and former Minister Suma Vasanth will meet Governor on Tuesday.

To an allegation on kidnap of BJP members, they said “Congress does not need to purchase or kidnap BJP members. In fact, one of our members had been hijacked by the BJP.” “The chaos and commotion created at the CMC was preplanned. The BJP had a fear that they might lose the power. Hence, they engaged in damaging the property. The loss of property should also be included in the list of achievement made by the BJP in the last two years,” they said.

The CMC President had said that development works had been undertaken owing to the special grants released by the State government. However, the government has not released any special grants to the district. The development works are being undertaken from the loan borrowed from the World Bank, alleged Nandakumar.

The inactive police and Assistant Commissioner and CMC Commissioner were responsible for the chaos created by the CMC members, he charged.
