Swaranaada Yatra ends with soulful performance

The jugalbandi by Dr Nagaraj Rao Havaldar and Vidwan R S Nanda Kumar left the audience enraptured and transported them to a spellbinding musical world. Music lovers also enjoyed the vocal performances by Pandit Indudhar Nirody and Srividya Girish. The concert ended with a mellifluous symphony of 22 tabla maestros.

As part of the event, renowned artists Vidwan Dr R Satyanarayana and Pandit Nirody were felicitated for their significant contribution to uphold the rich tradition of classical music in Karnataka. 

Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji felicitated the artists, at the musical concert held at Sri Ganapathy Sachidananda Ashrama's Naada Mantapa.

Organized by Sunaada Art Foundation in association with Chandaayan School of Music, New York, the musical tour featured 22 renowned tabla artists from across India and the world, along with four vocalists.

There were vocal concerts by artists from across Karnataka, followed by tabla symphony. The prominent artists included Pandit Indudhar Nirodi, Pandit Hanumanna Nayak Dorai, Dr Nagaraj Rao Havaldar, Pandit Ashok Huggannavar, Mukunda Haveri, Vidwan R S Nanda Kumar and Omkarnath Havaldar. Tabla maestros such as Pandit M Nagesh, Vikas Naregal, Trilochan Kampli, Uday Kulkarni, Kedarnath Havaldar from Karnataka, and others from USA, Kolkata and Delhi participated in this musical tour.

Dance ballet
Natya Sangeethalaya Research Institute is organising a dance ballet on women empowerment at Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha, JLB Road at 5 pm on January 1. The ballet is being directed by Vidwan K Guruprasad.
Vidwan S Mahadevappa and Vidushi A S Kanchanamaala will be felicitated on the occasion. Kannada and Culture Department Assistant Director K N Annegowda will be the chief guest.

Vasundharotsava
The rangapravesha of Kalyani S Kumar was held at the ongoing Vasundharotsava being held at the Jaganmohan Palace here on Tuesday. Kalyani is the daughter of C R Lalitha and S N Kumar. She has completed junior in music and senior exams in dance.
Kalyani, who is an engineering graduate, is the protege of Dr Vasundhara Doraswamy and has participated in the Dasara Mahotsava, Pallavotsava, Chiguru Sanje, Rajyotsava and Hoysalotsava programmes. She was awarded the ‘Kala Sharada’ award at the Kalapratibhotsava held in 2009.
