Last Updated 11 January 2011, 08:30 IST

Gogoi alias Amulya Charan Roy and Das alias Kamal Kachari told the waiting media outside the jail that ULFA 'C-in-C' Paresh Baruah's presence in the proposed peace talks with the government was "inevitable."

"Paresh Baruah may agree to join us soon. We will sit with our chairman Arabinda Rajkhowa and advisor Bhimkanta Buragohain before the proposed talks with the government", Roy said.

The two ULFA leaders were remanded to jail custody as undertrial prisoners under various sections of IPC and Arms Act and Unlawful Activities Prevention Act after their capture on December 25, 2003 by the Royal Bhutan Army during 'Operation All Clear'against ULFA camps in the Himalayan kingdom and handed over to Indian authorities.
