Last Updated 11 January 2011, 17:05 IST

At a press meet here, he alleged that Shivaram was favouring a faction and not taking all the leaders into confidence before taking important decisions. The party’s strength has been dwindling due to dictatorial attitude of Shivaram. Two Congress legislators have maintained a stoic silence on these developments. The party workers openly blamed Shivaram for having a secret understandings with BJP. Another MLA, A Manju had understanding with Janata Dal (Secular) in the recently held elections to taluk and zilla panchayats. The brother of MLA Rudreshgowda had been defeated in Kogilamane ZP as the latter never took the party workers into confidence.

Sheshegowda said the party workers would launch a huge protest against the highcommand if it fails to take action against Shivaram and others who worked against the candidates in the recently held PR elections. Need of the hour is to replace Shivaram with another leader who can revive the party.

Resignation demanded

Another Congress leader, A S Chandrashekhar charged the party never recognised the services of honest workers while distributing tickets for contesting the elections as well in the party.

Shivaram should tender resignation to his post owing moral responsibility over the debacle of the party in the recently held TP,GP polls.

Hot cakes

Jayanna alleged that the ‘B’ forms were sold like hot cake in Arsikere taluk. The activists of backward classes and minorities have been neglected by the senior leaders. All the three ex-MLAs worked against party candidates, he claimed.

Kadur Nanjappa, Vinay Gandhi and N R Prakash were present.
