“Vatsal is not a big star yet. But he is my lucky mascot. I have cast him in many of my films.

When I could not find a role for him in Yamla Pagla Deewana, I was heartbroken. I felt something was amiss. I thought I would have to live with that regret . But something strange happened,” said Karnik who worked with Vatsal in Nanhe Jaisalmer and Heroes.

“When I heard that the trailer of Vatsal’s film was being attached to Yamla Pagla Deewana, I felt it was almost fate’s intervention. Think about it. Hostel is a film that could have come any time.”

“But it came around the time of Yamla Pagla Deewana’s release and of all films that hit the screens, it was my film that its trailer was attached to. So finally, there is Vatsal in Yamla Pagla Deewana in an indirect way. I think the two of us have a karmic connection or shall I say, ‘Karnik’ connection?”

Vatsal, who started his film career with Taarzan — The Wonder Car, is still struggling to find his bearings.  Now Karnik has decided to cast Vatsal as a sardarji in the sequel to Yamla Pagla Deewana. “I owe him that,” said Karnik.
