A bench of justices P Sathasivam and H L Dattu dismissed the appeal of Srivastava who had challenged his conviction for gunning down customs officer L D Arora in Allahabad.
A Kanpur TADA court had convicted him for the murder in September 2008. Two other accused in the case were booked under TADA for the murder which took place on March 24, 1993 at the instance of mob boss Dawood Ibrahim.
Arora, during his posting in Mumbai, had seized a huge consignment of smuggled gold in which the Mumbai gangsters were involved. Srivastava is in jail since his extradition in 1995 from Singapore.
