<p>The Electronic City police said the victim, Swagatika Das (22), was a native of Chakradhar village in Jharkhand. She was working as an assistant engineer at Infosys for the last six months. Her boyfriend Robinson Mandal (24), alias Sonu, is from Rajrappa Project in Ramgarh district, Jharkhand, and works as an electrical engineer at American Power Conversion in Jigani industrial area.<br /><br />Swagatika lived in Ravi Shankar building and Robinson stayed with four roommates in the opposite Cable Prakash building near Iyappa temple, Konappa Agrahara.<br /><br />According to Robinson’s statement to the police, Swagatika came to his house at 9:50 pm and both went to the terrace. She was engrossed in deep conversation sitting on a parapet less than an inch in thickness and three feet in height. Within minutes, she got hiccups and Robinson ran down to fetch water. <br /><br />While he was walking up the stairs, he heard her calling him ‘Sonu, Sonu’ and he immediately rushed to the terrace, but could not find her. He ran downstairs and peeped through the staircase grills where she was lying in a pool of blood.<br /><br />He rushed her to Sagar hospital with the help of his friends but within a few minutes, the doctors declared her dead. Reason: multiple head injuries and internal haemorrhage.<br />After examining the witness, the police are convinced that the death could be an accident. The post mortem will be conducted after Swagatika’s parents arrive on Wednesday evening, police said.<br /><br />The girl’s father Bhagirath Das is working a manager at Jharkhand Grameena Bank and her brother Ashirwad Das is doing BTech in New Delhi. A few weeks ago, he was in Bangalore and spent time with his sister. Robin’s father Naresh Mandal is an executive engineer.<br /><br />In 2008, Swagatika met Robinson in Pune where he was doing his MBA and she was pursuing her education. <br /><br />They fell in love and decided to marry. In January last year, Robinson got a job and moved to Bangalore and within six months, Swagatika too joined him. Both families had approved of their alliance, police said.</p>
