The government is also promoting textiles mega shows in potential markets. The effort envisages not only identifying new markets but also attract foreign investment, he said.
“All textiles export promotion councils shall be taking part at these mega shows to showcase ‘Made in India’ image in unison,” Maran said in a written reply to Rajya Sabha.
“Two such mega events have already been organised at Cape Town and Johannesburg in South Africa, Buenos Aires in Argentina and Sao Paulo in Brazil. Another mega textiles show will be organised in Japan from July 21-23,” he said.
