Chavalkar (30) of Meda Galli here, and his wife, Pooja (22) of Bidar, also a software engineer in a Bangalore firm, met in Bangalore, fell head over heels in love and got married a year ago.
Totally in love with each other, they would not brook being separated. Pooja got pregnant and came home for her delivery, and delivered a girl child on January 14, to the great delight of the couple.
However, about two weeks ago, Pooja developed fever that would not abate. She was being treated in a private hospital in Hyderabad.
On Wednesday, Pooja died. Chavalkar, who was with her, was so shattered that he went up to the fifth floor and jumped to end his life. The bodies of the Chavalkar and Pooja were brought to Surpur on Wednesday evening by sobbing relatives, and were cremated.
