Hospital ward boy hacked to death

According to police, Basavaraj returned home from work around 5 pm and received a call on his mobile phone asking him to come out. He told Kamala, his wife, that he would be back soon and went out only to return heavily bleeding with head injuries, little later and collapsed. Kamala shifted him to a nearby hospital with the help of neighbours. Later, he was shifted to Nimhans where he breathed his last. Basavaraj and Kamala have two children.

In a complaint to police, Kamala has named Shivakumar, who was known to Basavaraj, as her husband’s killer.

Two killed in accidents

Two persons were killed in separate accidents in Whitefield traffic police limits on Tuesday night.

Chandrashekhar (27), who was waiting at a bunk to fill petrol in his four-wheeler, was killed on the spot when a container truck rammed into his vehicle on Whitefield Main Road.

According to the police, the truck brakes failed. The police arrested the container driver and seized the vehicle.

In another accident, Jayaprakash (28), a software engineer, was killed when a speeding truck knocked him down from his two-wheeler near Hope Farm.

The victim worked at the ITPL and was a resident of Whitefield. The truck driver fled the scene after the accident.

Baby’s body found in drain

Residents of Pattegarapalya were in for a rude shock on Wednesday when they found limbs of a newborn in the jaws of straydogs.

Police said somebody had thrown a 2-day-old baby boy in the drain which might have died due to choking.

Later the dogs bit the body into pieces. Kamaksipalya police have registered a case.
