The ambitious project will ensure supply of an additional 500 MLD of water to the City from  March 2012.

Narayan, BWSSB's chief engineer for Cauvery IV stage II phase said parts of the City might receive water by Friday morning and others by Saturday.

“A pipeline already exists at 40 ML GLR (Ground level reservoir) in Thorekadanahalli which was laid in 1993 under Cauvery II stage. We are laying a parallel pipeline measuring 265 m in length to connect the Cauvery IV stage II phase with the GLR. The work is expected to be completed by Friday morning," he said.

With many people unaware of BWSSB's work and its announcements in the newspapers about water shutdown, the BWSSB control room received several calls mainly from Bangalore East complaining about lack of water supply.
