PU teachers go on hunger strike

The Association submitted its demands to PU Board Director Chakravarthy Mohan, stating the members would wear black badges during the II PU examination scheduled to be held from March 17.

Association President Suresh H S threatened to go on indefinite strike if the government did not meet their demands.

The government has blindsided them with a difference of pay scale ranging from Rs 16,000 to Rs 55,000 across the board for teachers at the PU college vis-a-vis the degree college lecturers. However, there will be no disruption during the examination or evaluation, he added.

Suresh said they would protest by wearing white masks covering their mouths during evaluation.
