Stung by CAG, KSPCB blames water board

KSPCB Chairperson A S Sadashivaiah blamed the BWSSB for not checking the small units which are run in the residential areas and discharge effluents directly into the drains.

Sadashivaiah said he would issue directions to the BWSSB.

Minister for BWSSB Suresh Kumar admitted that the Board had to be blamed for pollution to an extent, as effluents go unnoticed. He said the BWSSB was devising a mechanism to let only treated water into the drain. The BWSSB officers were not available for comments.
