Last Updated 17 March 2011, 22:31 IST

RGUHS registrar, Premkumar, who expressed doubts about the examination system in the varsity, has sought a thorough inquiry into the malpractices. Officers Dinesh and Golasangi, who represented Premkumar, accompanied the police to VIMS.

They questioned Principal Srinivasamurthy and the examination staff.

Cowl Bazaar Police Inspector Girish Bhojannavar, who is heading the probe, said they may question the top ranking students.

A total of 307 students had appeared for the entrance test held on January 30, 2011. The results were declared on March 5 and seven students writing the exam at the VIMS centre bagged the top-ranks.

Complaints

The varsity had received complaints from anonymous sources that some doctors serving at VIMS and their relatives were among the rank holders.

Some people had also written to the Lokayukta in this regard.
