He said a circular would be issued in this regard shortly. The task force will have to meet the area MLA every 15 days and report to him about the efforts made in restructuring water distribution methods.

After visiting the Kodichikkanahalli reservoir in Bommanahalli, he met the corporators, BBMP and BWSSB officials concerned.

Kumar said to solve the drinking water problem, the number of water tankers must be increased substantially. He instructed BBMP to utilise the special grants under the 22.75 per cent scheme, under which each ward will get three borewells.

The Minister directed BWSSB officials to give special attention to maintain borewells and to repair the motors attached to borewells. "If the agency concerned does not attend to a complaint as soon as it is lodged, its permit will be cancelled immediately. One working motor should always be kept ready to be replaced immediately in case of a snag," he said.

The Minister also instructed that a rainwater recharge well should be located close to the borewell to facilitate groundwater recharge.
