Technical snag brings SBM transactions to a halt

The customers, who had gathered at the bank in large numbers due to the holidays on Saturday and Sunday, had to wait for a long time to conduct their transactions.

“There is a problem virtually everyday in the bank. While on some days, it is a technical glitch that brings operations to a halt, the server is down on other days,” the customers complained.

“We are forced to set aside our daily chores standing in long queues to get our work done,” they said.      

Government benefits like old age pension and widow pension are distributed through the bank. The daily problems in the bank as also the congested premises of the bank make it difficult for the customers, they said.

The bank officials have failed to provide services in proportion to the population in Bagepalli, the customers said. Lack of adequate staff and infrastructure is compounding the problems, they said. Murthy, one of the customers, told Deccan Herald that the bank authorities should take immediate steps to set right the anomalies.
