Tahsildar, MLA complain against each other

Tahsildar Abhijin has complained to police that legislator Sangameshwara and his followers had obstructed him from carrying out his official duties, attempted to assault him and threatened his life.

The face-off between Abhijin and the MLA began over the electoral rolls for elections to the Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee (APMC).

In the afternoon, some Congress leaders met Abhijin and complained that names of two members had not been included in the rolls despite they having drawn the attention of the APMC secretary to it.

Abhijin told them that nothing could be done at that advanced stage.  Within a few minutes, accompanied by his followers, Sangameshwara arrived at the Tahsildar’s office and protested against two members being deprived of voting rights. The argument degenerated into an open row, with abusive words being exchanged, according to eyewitnesses.

The MLA has filed a counter-complaint against the Tahsildar. Some followers of the MLA too have filed complaints against the Tahsildar.
