QI need help to create a cleansing routine for my face.

Your skin care routine should be according to your skin type. If you have oily skin, use a cleansing lotion/soap/face wash. Use rose water or a skin tonic for toning. Apply sunscreen when you step out. Most sunscreens make effective moisturisers, so there is no need to also apply moisturiser, if you have applied sunscreen. Select your sunscreen according to your skin type. Use a cleanser in the evenings too. If you have dry skin, apply a nourishing cream and massage it into the face. Use a face mask twice a week.


Q I am 18 years old and I have dark circles under my eyes. Dark spots seem prominent on my skin as I am fair.  

A To get rid of dark spots, apply a sunscreen with high SPF before stepping out in the sun. Mix rice powder with curd and use it as a facial scrub once or twice a week. Rub gently in small, circular motions, focusing on the dark spots. Leave it on for a few minutes and wash off with water. Mix honey and lemon juice in equal quantities and apply it on the face. Wash off after 15 minutes with lukewarm water. Twice a week, apply a face mask. Mix 3 teaspoons of oatmeal with one teaspoon each of honey, curd and lemon juice, or egg white. Use this thick paste as a scrub.
