France confers 'Legion of Honour' to Rahul Bajaj, Baba Kalyani

On behalf of the French President, Ambassador of France to India Jerome Bonnafont conferred the distinction to Bajaj and Kalyani for their contributions to the development of Indo-French cooperation in business.

Accepting the award, Bajaj said: "It is indeed a great honour to receive this recognition. It is a great honour for the members of the Bajaj Group and a tribute to the spirit of entrepreneurship."

The Order of the Legion of Honour was instituted in 1802 by Napoleon Bonaparte and it is the highest distinction that can be conferred on a French citizen or a foreigner.

Commenting on the distinction, Kalyani said: "This is very encouraging and I am honoured to accept it. This award is not only for me but a recognition to India as well."
