'Imposter' goes missing

Following a complaint from women's helpline, police turned up at Sai Palace lodge, where the couple was staying. Inquiries revealed that Praveen Shetty, a native of Thirthahalli, was staying with his wife and son from May.

While taking the room, he had claimed that he was in the city for electioneering. While leaving for Bangalore to bring money to clear the hotel bills, Shetty had brought his niece, who is pregnant, to stay with his wife.

Shetty's wife Geetha told the police that when she contacted JD(S) spokesperson Y S V Datta, he told her that no one by that name was working for Revanna's wife Bhavani.
The Hotel Manager said the couple had deposited some advance and paid some money in between.

Police are waiting for the arrival of Geetha's brother. “We will collect Shetty's telephone number from Geetha tomorrow, and will start looking for him,” they added.
