Special CBI judge O P Saini was told that CBI was "deliberately" suppressing the facts against Ambani and "overlooking" the role of Tata and Radia in the scam.

Delhi-based scribe M Furquan and Ghaziabad's scrap dealer Dharmender Pandey, who have filed private complaints in the court, alleged CBI was not looking into the matter and trying to protect them.

"I have sent all the related documents to CBI. Why is CBI not looking into the matter?," Furquan's cousnel D K Devesh submitted. He placed some documents in the court containing the correspondance between various agencies of the government in connection with the case.

"There are some more persons and companies (who are involved) in this (the scam). Kindly direct CBI to look into these documents," he said adding he would place some more documents before the court.

Pandey, who had filed an application alleging CBI overlooked the role of Tata and Radia in 2G scam, told the court that the agency is trying to protect them (Tata and Radia).

"CBI is trying to protect them. If prima facie case is made out (against them), what is the problem in prosecuting these persons"? he said. The court has posted both the matters for further hearing on June 2.
