The talented Bangalore Golf Club girl, playing in Category B, shot a second successive four-over 76 to emerge overall champion by a thumping 14 strokes after totalling 232 at the Karnataka Golf Association.

Pune Golf Club’s Raksha Padke, who was just four shots behind Aditi overnight, endured a forgettable day in the office, losing her way in the title race with a disappointing 86 to finish runner-up in Category A.

KGA’s Shruti Shenoy shot a 93 to edge out Suchitra Ramesh by a stroke for the Category B title, the former signing off with a total of 280. Aditi, who emerged victorious (Category B) in the season-opening Haryana Open three weeks back, made a horrendous start to the day before posting a decent recovery.

Although not under much pressure with Raksha going all over the challenging course, the Frank Anthony Public School student competed with her playing partner on the mistakes’ front, holing out five bogeys in the opening 10 holes.

However, a birdie on the 11th put the 13-year-old back on track as the teenager level-parred the remaining seven holes to finish off in style.

The battle in the boys’ section is turning out to be an all-KGA contest between Syed Saqib Ahmed and Trishul Chinnappa. While Ahmed shot 71 to stay in front at 216, a resurgent Chinnappa narrowed the lead down to four shots with a brilliant 69.
