At the time of pre- marriage discussion, Raghavendra’s parents had demanded a site in Bangalore, ` two lakh dowry, 150 grams of gold ornaments and marriage at Shashwathi Kalyan Mantap at Koppa.<br /><br />Sowmya’s parents agreed and gave ` one lakh as dowry 100 grams of gold ornaments to Raghavendra. They also promised to hold marriage at Shaswathi Kalyan Mantap. <br /><br />More demands<br /><br />On May 22, B M Raghavendra came to Sowmya’s house with his parents, relatives and demanded ` two lakh cash and a site failing which he threatened to break the alliance. Efforts made by the bride’s parents to convince the would-be son-in-law proved futile.<br />Meanwhile, Raghavendra and his parents have locked their house and have escaped. The accused is said to be a driver working in Bangalore. The bride’s father, Ningappa has filed a complaint at Koppa Police Station.<br /></p>
