‘Think NXT 2011’ provided an effective platform for the youth to get a first-hand perspective on various creative fields. Resource persons from various fields informed participants about lucrative career choices and helped them to select appropriate academic disciplines providing valuable insights on diverse disciplines such as advertising, film-making, animation, journalism, game art, new and interactive media.

The students got an opportunity to interact with industry leaders of the respective fields and clear their doubts. Prateek Srivastava, Group President, South, Ogilvy and Mather India; Vineeth Hukmani, MD, Radio One; Manisha Mohan, Senior VP, Design and Animation, Tata Interactive addressed and interacted with the young people.

“We believe that it is important for the student community to get a sense of the enormous possibilities that exist in the media and entertainment space. Hence, we have roped in industry experts to share their insights and experiences with the students. And Manipal University, Bangalore Campus offers industry-relevant, career-oriented programmes that equip one for the best market opportunities around the world. Through this event, we tried to give information to students about our courses,” says Padma Srinivasan, Director, Division of Media and Entertainment of Manipal University.

“The event ‘Think NXT’ was fabulous, and gave a great insight into the world of animation in all realistic terms. The speech by Biren Ghose of Techicolour was very informative and inspiring,” said Divyam Chand, one of the participants.  Students from Manipal University got a chance to showcase their creative works to the industry experts on the occasion. The event ended with the performance of the rock band called ‘Hungry’.
