Launching the National Project on Rinderpest Eradication programme which has been taken Statewide at Sadlavarahalli recently, he said peste des petits ruminants is an acute and highly contagious, notifiable viral disease of sheep and goats that causes substantial morbidity and mortality. The programme aims to cover the targeted animals within June.
On the first day, as many as 2,502 sheep and goats were administered the vaccine.
