Students ransack CBSE office in Patna

Several students and guardians ransacked the Patna region office of the CBSE, smashing glasses and damaging furniture. They also clashed with the employees and private security personnel in support of their demand.

Police soon reached the spot and controlled the situation rounding up at least six students. When contacted, Acting head of the CBSE Patna Region Office, S U Sorte said he had already assured the students of sending to the CBSE's New Delhi office their copies for proper verification of marks.

"We will prepare a list of aggrieved students.. we will send the copies to Delhi for proper verification," he said promising CBSE would mete out justice to every body. Sorte also admitted that out of 900 copies, which were taken for re-counting the marks, error was found in about 15 to 20 copies.

"Four to five copies were found in which students were given about 10 marks less and in seven to eight copies some students got one or two marks less." He said the Patna office had received about 2000 applications with request for re-counting.

Today's fast followed the day-long fast by a group of students yesterday which was called off after Sorte offered them juice and assured of taking up the case with the Delhi Office of CBSE.
